ADDITIONAL INFO:     This appears to be a U.S. Navy contract knife. Mike Silvey lists this knife on page 125 of his book,  Pocket Knives of the US Military.  The knives shown in his book are attached PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT. Obviously this one was ordered for the U.S. Navy. So be list the overall length as about 4."

3-7/8" is pretty close to 4 inches. This is a beautiful knife that hasn't even had the bone worn down on it yet I almost missed the fact that it was a bone handled knife until I looked at a couple of the spots and realized it was bone. Then using a magnifier I was able to confirm it was bone by seeing the haversian canals. Mike Silvey says these night's were probably made in the 1950s and 1960s. I would suspect they are made prior to the use of Delrin, circa 1961.

This is your chance for a really pretty and well-made old military knife.
