Hen and Rooster Bertram Cutlery Solingen Congress Outstanding STAG
When you look at modern knives made today many of them lack the quality that this knife has. Just looking at the stag handles on this Congress tells you that it was made in a bygone era. Modern cutlers will "haft" away a lot of the bark on stag handles fitting them to the bolsters. The old time cutlers took their time and trimmed the excess stag off of the back of the handle material leaving most , if not all, of the bark on the front. The stag on this Congress is what attracted to me to it. It is simply outstanding. Chip and crack free handles. The blades are stainless and marked "rostfrei" and have not been used or resharpened and retain their factory edge. Nickel silver pins and bolsters with brass liners. Strong half stops on all blades with good snap all around and no wobble or play. Measures 3 1/8" closed OAL. No box, but I will include a zippered storage pouch for it. A little blade rub and some handling marks which are not uncommon on a knife that is probably over 40 years old. Free shipping within the USA.
