ADDITIONAL INFO: In 1980 Kershaw introduced four new fixed blade knives; the 2205 known as the Caper; the 2210 known as the Catfish N’ Buzzard, both of which were great sizes for bird and trout knives. They also introduced two skinning the patterns, the Li’l Skinner I, #2220 and the Li’l Skinner II, #2230. All of them had full tangs and a stainless steel frame around the Rosewood inlay. The blades were usually engraved with a wildlife scene. The scene on this knife is a big Bull Moose standing in some grass at the edge of a lake with mountains in the background. The engraving has incredible detail and is very sharp and crisp.
The last information I have on the production of this knife is in 1985, I am missing the few catalogs from the latter 1980s so I don’t know exactly when the production of the Li’l Skinner I was ended. Kershaw was our best selling line in the cutlery store I managed in the 1980s and I don’t remember this knife stock much after 1986 or so. The series was actually pretty popular, especially the 2210, Catfish N’ Buzzard.
