Vintage Schrade Cut Co Hunter's Pride Marine Pearl switchblade
This is a really nice example of a very Hard to find vintage American folding guard switchblade hunter knife with Marine Pearl celluloid scales! This knife was made in Walden, NY sometime between 1916 and 1946 and measures 4 7/8" closed and 8 5/8" open. It was designated the model G1544 3/4M and the blade originally had a fragile HUNTER'S PRIDE etch on the front side. Though the blade is nearly full on this knife, that etch has faded/worn. I think I can see parts of some letters if I hold it at an angle to the light, but can't say for sure. Definitely a nearly full profile blade with much of the original finish under some patina and light scratches. The Marine Pearl celluloid scales are very attractive and in excellent condition! The knife functions well with the blade tip resting just under the liners when closed, good snap and tight lockup when open! These knives were made with jigged bone, jigged black celluloid, or delrin and also at least 4 colors of smooth celluloid including the Marine Pearl. Most that you find will have either jigged bone, or black jigged scales. This knife is a Great example of a rare old American hunter switchblade and would make a nice addition to ANY knife collection! Don't let this one get away!
