Great Eastern Cutlery #23 Pioneer made in 2007. Condition is mint in original tube and waxed paper and snaps like an allligator. In 2007 Great Eastern did not use the 6 digit pattern numbering system that they use now so the actual pattern number for this knife is just a #23. Handle is Smooth Buffalo Horn. Steel is 1095 Carbon. OAL Closed 4 1/2". Etching on the nail nick side of one blade is a banner reading"TRADE MARK GREAT EASTERN CUTLERY". The reverse side of the second blade reads, "MODEL 23 PIONEER 1 OF 250". Tang on first blade reads GREAT EASTERN CUTLERY TITUSVILLE PA on the reverse reads CYCLOPS STEEL WORKS. Tangs on the other blade read GREAT EASTERN CUTLERY TITUSVILLE PA and 2007. At the base of the tube is is written in ink."#23 Buffalo Horn 2007 025". 025 is engraved on the bolster. Sield is Acorn.
