ADDITIONAL INFO:      I believe this to be the 3000A shown in the 2001-2002 Kershaw catalog. The catalog says some of the D.W.O.s have AUS6A and some are made of 440A blade steel. There don’t seem to be many of these around, although I did find one on eBay that was still in the clampack. The 1999-2000 catalog list several knives in the same series (Folding Work Knives), all the tough black copolymer handles that are made with 440A steel and made in the USA. The models made with 440A steel are the #1060AST and #1060A, the Black Horse II partially serrated & fine edge, and the Black Colt II, fine edge; #1045A. Also in the 1999-2000 catalog are four knives in the same series that were made with ATS-34 steel. It seems about this time Kershaw was starting to experiment with a higher grade steels. I believe this is one of the knives from that era.
