1980's Browning Jade Series Knives matched set of 3

In the early 1980’s Browning introduced 3 semi-custom-made knives with Wyoming Jade handles and named after the famous passes used to travel West; South Pass, Great Divide, and Oregon Trail. Limited to 2,000 sets they came with a velvet lined walnut case and each set was numbered. It is reported they were manufactured in a small factory near the Browning Corporate Headquarters in Utah. This original matched set is number 1681.

The handles of these knives are cut from genuine Wyoming Jade (NEPHRITE) and is considerable tougher than Jadeite. The only mineral tougher is Black Diamond. Other features include Brass bolsters and liners and a 440C Stainless Steel blade.
