Vintage Rigid Knives “Bear Paw” Bowie RG-33

Rigid Knives were founded in the early 1970s by former Buck employees; Bill Duff, Dean Parks, and Don Collum in Santee, CA., later moving to Lake Hamilton, AR before going out of business in the late 1980s. Their knives were well built in fact they were accused of overbuilding knives. This large, Rigid RG 33 Bear Paw Bowie Knife has a 9 1/8" long, 3/16" thick blade and is made of high quality Japanese Surgical Stainless Steel. Knife is very sharp!
One side of the blade has the original “Rigid” names along with the Bear Paw Logo.

The other side is marked with the Model number “RG 33 and Surgical Steel, Japan”.

The thick blade in 14” long, full tang construction that goes all the way through the beautiful hardwood handle which is accented with layers of brass, ebony and dark red spacers.

The solid brass finger guard is Bowie Style topped with a solid brass knurled pommel providing this large Bowie with excellent balance.

The knife comes with a heavy duty and handsome reddish-brown leather with the Rigid “Bear Paw” Logo stamped into it and is the perfect complement to this awesome knife.

It is a beautiful knife to hold and handle. Blade appears not to have been sharpened, has small scratches where the rivet that hold the keeper strap to the sheath has scratched it, sheath shows signs of the knife being stored in it. Judge from the photos.
