HATTORI handmade  440 FIXED BLADE 8" KNIFE & SHEATH

This knife is listed on the Ichiro Hattori site (below) but I have been unable to find information on the importer using the Star M logo. It is identical to the Sharp Model 1000S that was imported into the US in the late 1970s to 1980s period. 8" OAL, 3.5" Hollow ground blade of 440 steel (many Hattori's were later discovered to use AUS-8 steel) with Sharp Brand leather sheath. The photo showing the Sharp 1000s knife and the Handmade Star M knife is to illustrate how idential they are. The Sharp 1000s knife is not included in this purchase. You are buying the rare Handmade Star M knife only. 

This knife is used as I do not have the box, but perfect. Shows no signs of being sharpened but not guaranteed. The sheath is beautiful. I have been search for one of these for some time and I am in no rush to sell it.

Hattori later issued this knife as the H-109 Drop Point Hunter, with a 3 1/2″ Aus-8 blade, Nickel Silver Bolster and rivets, rounded and shaped grained Mahogany handle with brass lanyard hole.
