CONDITION:   Excellent

DAMAGE:   Scratches on blade and minor dings to bolster. Normal use wear.

BLADE WEAR:   Estimate blade loss less than 5%.

SNAP:   This is a lot blade and does not snap like a traditional slip joint, but the blade does snap audibly into the locked position and seats closed with an audible snap.

CARRY SYSTEM:   Kershaw camouflage factory nylon sheath.

ADDITIONAL INFO:      The Wildcat Ridge is part of the second series of knives that were introduced in the Officer Ranch series. They feature a lockback design with ABS plastic handles and a zinc alloy frame with integral bolsters. The Wildcat Ridge is the largest knife in this series. The first Kershaw publication I have in which this series of knives appears is a 1990 insert; probably the flyer was included with a new knife. The country of origin is not always listed in the Kershaw catalogs, though the price lists usually do have the country of origin. The 2007 Kershaw pricelist shows the Wildcat Ridge was made in Japan with AUS6A steel. In the 2009 catalog the steel is listed as 8CR13MOV stainless steel and the price list shows the #3140 Wildcat Ridge as made in China. I don’t know what year this particular knife was made, but it was made in Japan with AUS6A steel. These are great knives that do journeyman work!
