This is a 1998 Smith and Wesson 146th Anniversary Bowie - a big knife Made in USA. 

Produced by Smith & Wesson in 1998 to commemorate the company's 146 anniversary, this great USA made Bowie knife has a heavy 10 1/2" stainless steel blade and a very nice 6.25" crown stag handle, OAL 17.5". The blade is etched with a gold S&W seal surrounded by engraved "146 Anniversary 1852-1998" and "Smith & Wesson". This big Model SW 409 Bowie originally listed for $212.50 in the #59 Smith & Wesson knife catalog. It has never been used or carried, only displayed, and comes with its original blue S&W box. The fitted black thick leather sheath is also embossed with the Smith and Wesson seal on the leather and on the keeper snap. Not many were produced, it would be a great addition for the Smith & Wesson collector, This knife being #24.
