CONDITION:   Excellent

DAMAGE:   There is staining and patina on the blade but I see no evidence of rust.

BLADE WEAR:   The saw blades do not appear to be worn down and are still sharp.

HANDLE: Wood

TANG STAMPS:   WESTERN/STAINLESS U.S.A./S-W766

SHEATH:   Shares two-part leather sheath with the Knapp Sports Saw

CONDITION:   Fair+

DAMAGE:   The tip of this knife is bent a little bit.

BLADE WEAR:   Blade appears to be full

AGE:     Markings are consistent with the Western markings prior to 1991.

 

MADE IN:   U.S.A.

 

ADDITIONAL INFO:      This is an excellent piece of outdoor/sporting gear. I am absolutely amazed at the price these combinations bring on eBay. About all I could find about Knapp on the web was that they seem to been made by the Pioneer Co. of Boise Idaho. There is a Pioneer Co. still listed in Boise, but they don’t seem to be making the sports saw now. Western listed this knife as a fillet knife but obviously the previous owner new this design would be an excellent boning knife as well! I will re-profile this knife if the buyer so wishes free of charge. Just let me know when you buy it that you would like the knife sharpened and reprofiled.
