ADDITIONAL INFO:      The Kershaw Sapphire was introduced in 2006. It was listed as a premium pocketknife with the blade steel upgraded to AUS8A. Also in the premium group was the Kershaw Splinter and the Kershaw Nakamura, with a clad VG10 blade and Mokume bolsters. Unfortunately this knife suffered some scratches and rub marks mostly on the mark side handle. I have another of these knives that I frequently EDC and the finished does tend to scratch. However after it has been carried for a length of time the scratches to the finish give a new depth to the finish of the knife and in my opinion actually improve the look of the knife. The scratches to this apparently occurred in the store because someone has written “scratched” on the end of the box. The knife does come with the box and paperwork. I’m not sure how long these were made but this is only the second one I have seen, the other is my sometimes EDC. I think I have seen two other sell on eBay but these do not seem to be very common, even on eBay.
