ADDITIONAL INFO:      This knife was apparently an ad knife or award knife made for Boeing. This is a good user knife, and I have priced it accordingly. A great addition to a toolbox, tackle box, glovebox or any other box or bag of tools that one keeps handy for emergency repairs. The serrated portion of the blade is outstanding for cutting the rope, cord or shipping straps! Price to go into your tools/tackle box today!

This knife is part of the Officer Ranch Series. I very few Kershaw catalogs from 1983 to 2004, but I believe this pattern was introduced around 1989, if memory serves me. The unusual thing about this knife is that it is partially serrated. Most of these were fine edge and it’s difficult to find one that is only half serrated. There were others they made that were fully serrated. There were a number of different knife series of patterns in the Officer Ranch Series, some of the first being the lockbacks with rosewood handles. The Wild Turkey and the Big Joe are examples of this first series. These began around 1985 to 1986 it was followed shortly after by the rubber covered DWO. There was another series in the Officer Ranch series known as the Taskforce series. I think those came out around 1991. This second series, with the ABS plastic handles, which includes the Black Gulch, reminded me very much of a popular series of Puma knives made in Germany in the 1980s. By comparison the Kershaw was about one third the price of the Puma and easily twice the knife in fit, finish and quality, in my opinion.
