ADDITIONAL INFO:      The Lever Action is part of the Saber Tooth Series, which was introduced in 1990. I see this knife is a step in the continuing development of one-handed opening knives, which eventually led us to assisted opening and flipper knives that enjoy such great popularity today. I think this also served a purpose in the development of assisted opening knives. This knife cannot be opened with a mere flick of the rest, the lock must be released in the blade opened before the wrist flick will open the knife. I think this overcame all of the legal objections of the 1990 laws against switchblades and flick knives. It really seems to me to have a small but unique niche in cutlery history.

 Pressing up on the lever brings the blade out of the pocket and makes it ready to open with a flip of the wrist. Sliding the lever back to the original position locks the blade in the open position. Closing is just the reverse. There is no spring action to open this blade, only the action from the lever.

I believe this to be one of the earliest productions of the lever action as the second-generation one had red plastic levers instead of the metal lever on this one.
