CONDITION:   Near mint, knife may have been lightly used.

DAMAGE:   Appears to have shop wear marks on the wooden handles.

ADDITIONAL INFO:      This is the Rustler (model #2010) from the Easy Rider™ series of Kershaw knives. I believe this series started around 1977 and in the early to mid-1980s the Easy Rider™ series was one of Kershaw’s iconic lines. I believe that’s accurate within two years on either side of the date. Some of the series lasted as long as 1986 although I cannot find the Rustler in the catalogs beyond 1985. It may have been discontinued then or I may be missing some of the earlier catalogs. The knives with the KERSHAW/OREGON tang stamps were made when Pete Kershaw still owned Kershaw Cutlery. Pete sold Kershaw Cutlery to Kai Cutlery circa 1986 and the word “OREGON” was dropped from the tang stamps. It was also about this time that the company relocated to Wilsonville Oregon. The former location had been in Lake Oswego Oregon.

This knife is an excellent example of the Easy Rider series and is great for a collection, display or just for someone who wants a very good pocketknife. This series of knives help to build the “Kershaw sharp” mystique that surrounds Kershaw knives to this day. This is an excellent example for a collection but would make a fine user knife as well.
