ADDITIONAL INFO:      Nice large carbon steel Western stockman! In my opinion Western made some of the best carbon steel of all the old American companies. The rear tang stamp: 742/C indicates that it is model 742 and the C indicates it was made in 1979. This was prior to the purchase of Western by Coleman, the lantern people. Coleman purchased Western in the mid-1980s in the 1986 catalog featured the Coleman Western name prominently. My personal opinion is the knives were better before Coleman bought Western. This is a great knife built in what was arguably some of the better days for this great company. I highly recommend Western knives for users! They make great EDC’s!
