Up for sale is a vintage Ontario Knife Company Tru-Edge Old Hickory 7-inch butcher knife. Proudly manufactured in Franklinville, New York, this iconic American kitchen worker features a full-tang high-carbon steel blade anchored to traditional flame-burnt hickory wood handles.

​This knife is in great vintage user condition. It has a beautiful, deeply established natural carbon steel patina and is ready to go straight onto a magnetic kitchen strip or right out into a rustic camp cooking kit.

​Condition Report:

​The Blade: Great vintage condition. The 7-inch high-carbon cutlery steel blade features a full cutting belly profile and retains a crisp, highly legible factory banner stamp reading "Tru-Edge / ONTARIO KNIFE CO. / MADE IN U.S.A.". The steel has taken on a gorgeous, honest dark storage patina with light surface scuffs and typical minor pepper spotting, but is entirely free of deep, aggressive rust pitting or edge chips.

​The Handle: Solid full-tang hickory wood scales secured tightly by two brass compression rivets. The wood features a strong, distinct factory-stamped logo reading "OLD HICKORY". The wood handles are entirely rigid and free of structural cracks, deep splits, or loose play at the tang.
