Greetings!

This is a 13'' / 33CM stiletto produced in Italy by Giovanni Beltrame in late 2024 - he has since retired, so what's on the market now are his last pieces. The majority of his pieces were produced with pearlex, stag and dark horn - many as outsourcing for SKM, and he also built 13'' knives for Frank Beltrame for years.

However, this special run of Brazilian horn was produced in collaboration with Lucio Di Bon, master of materials fabrication who supplies high-end horn slabs to all of the Maniago cutlers. It was for a Dolphins (Mariani) production run, but somehow slipped through the cracks without the Dolphins stamp. The front scale has the mix of light and dark you'd expect with Brazilian horn, but perhaps the real highlight is the translucence between safety slot and button, allowing one to see some of the button assembly mechanism if you hold it in the right light (I tried to catch some of this in the closed knife picture#3). The back is also a fantastic gradience of black at the top, white clouds, throughout most of the middle, before pure honey at the bottom. This piece embodies the unpredictability of Brazilian horn in perhaps all of the right ways!
