Here is a Case XX USA 6347 SH SP SSP 3-blade bone handle stockman pocketknife that comes in the original factory box with paperwork. This knife has 3 dots on the front of the main blade; however, the box it came in (we bought it directly from Case) says 1998. (see photos) 

While the "3 dots" usually correspond to 1997, it is very common for Case knives produced in 1997 to be sold in boxes or with paperwork dated 1998, as the knife may have been manufactured late in the year and packaged or shipped shortly after. 

Very Nice Unused Condition in the Original Box - 3 7/8 inches closed. Never Sharpened, Carried, or Cleaned. No chips or cracks in the handles. (There is a mark on the second blade from the factory.)
