Smith & Sons Mudbug Lockback Natural Burlap Micarta Stonewash drop point.

Similar to the 4 5/8" lockback GEC 21 Bullbuster, in fact these knives were made by GEC as special factory order items in 2018. Likely Bullbuster was based on the earlier Case Sodbuster, in turn based on German economy folding butcher knives. The common feature is the lack of bolster for simplicity. 

This offering was produced by Smith & Sons Knife Company in house and purchased in 2023 from their major distributor, then stored. The single drop point blade is D2 steel with satin finish.High chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%), D2 has enhanced corrosion resistance. 

A larger folding knife, it features secure locking action which is released by depressing the lockback lever which is accomplished without difficulty and a single drop point blade. The original new storage box, leather laynard, instructions and decal are included.

This is a rare, beautiful and solidly made knife.
