Rare IXL Wostenholm Stag Dirk Folding Knife, Sheffield England, Unused.

I believe the knife is a custom made by one of the knifemakers that IXL outsourced production to. I'd guess it was made in the 80's. Dirks were not a standard pattern at that time so the handle had to be custom made to fit the blade. The blade was from existing IXL stock or it was custom made as well.

It's a beautiful knife with amazing stag scales, lighter with a slight arch on the front side, darker and flatter on the back side. All the metal is mirror polished including the inside of the brass liners and the finish work is excellent. The pull opening the knife is strong and the nail nick is small so it's hard to open. I use a thin folded piece of cardboard to slide under the front of the blade to pull it open.

- The knife is unused. It has light scuffs and scratches. I don't see any other condition issues. See the pictures as they represent the condition accurately.

- It has a stiff pull to open with very smooth movement. It has a half stop and excellent snap opening and closing.

- 9 inch open, 5 inch handle and 4 inch blade.
