This is a Case Classic split back spring whittler.  Made by Queen for Case in 1991.  This whittler measures 3 3/4" closed OAL and has red banana jigged bone handles that are chip and crack free.  The carbon steel blades have not been used or resharpened and retain their factory edge.  Mirror polished back springs really set off the red colored bone handles.  The main blade is hard to open and that's by design.  The old knives from a hundred years ago did not have locking mechanisms so the answer was to use the pressure of both back springs to hold the main blade open and that in turn puts a lot of pressure on the blade when you open it.  This knife is designed to be as close to those old designs as possible.  All blades have good snap and no wobble or play.  Comes with the original box.
