Sarco brand knife. Usually Jim Sargent had his knives made by Queen Cutlery in Titusville, PA. This is a swell center whittler pattern, called the “Lil Whittler”. This was an original 1 piece prototype that was made in 1997 and submitted to the NKCA for the National Knife Collector’s Association youth knife for 1998. It was not the chosen pattern, and so was never went into full production. This knife was sold through the Voyles Prototype auction in 2009 to raise funds for the National Knife Collectors Association.

It measures 3 1/2 inch closed and has smooth white bone handles. It has nickel silver bolsters, brass liners, and 440 stainless blades. The main blade is etched in gold/black “1998 NKCA Youth Knife One of 700” and the front bolster is engraved “PROTOTYPE”.

All blades do not have half stops. This knife does not come in a box.

The knife is in new condition, never used or sharpened. There is a small amount of tarnish on the bolsters. The blades are spotless, and the handles are free of any defects. The blade snaps good both open and closed.  Please note that all blades have very very slight blade wobble, as this was a prototype handmade knife.
