In the late 1800's, New York was the epicenter of an emerging knife industry in the USA. The Ontario Knife Company was founded in 1886, during an era where knife companies seemed to rise, merge and fall almost daily. As one of the industry leaders, OKC has remained standing  for nearly 150 years. They even survived the Great Depression, while continuing to provide quality knives for generations of US troops, including the iconic MK II and JPSK (Jet Pilot Survival Knife). Sadly, however, this staple of American cutlery has now met the same fate of it's sister company, Queen Cutlery. Both owned by Servotronics; Queen closed it's doors in 2018, and now Ontario's story has also come to an end as of 2023. Interest in Queen has spiked following it's demise and I'm sure that Ontario will  also see a revival amongst collectors.

"OK" Tang Stamp (used between 1971 and 2012, but I believe this knife is dated around 1980s-1990s)

The knife shows some light scuffing and blemishes on the bolsters and blade, but still appears to maintain an unused and unsharpened, factory edge. It has moderate damage from carrying or storage, almost all on the pile side scale (see pics) but the mark side scale looks nearly perfect. There is also some slight seperation on the spine, near the bolsters (see pics) The blade locks open solid, with good halfstop and snap on close. No wobble or play in blade.
