ADDITIONAL INFO:      I believe this is one of the last patterns introduced in the Officers Ranch series, I believe it was introduced in the late 1980s. I have yet to be able to find Kershaw catalogs after 1985 and before 2005. I think this pattern was introduced about 1988 or 1989. I was managing a cutlery store then and as I recall none of the Officers Ranch series with the deep serrations lasted more than two or three years of production. I believe the blade steel on this is AUS6A or AUS8A. From statements by Pete Kershaw in the earlier catalogs he said all their knives were made with AUS8A in the 1986 catalog (if I can recall correctly) right after Kai Cutlery purchased Kershaw Cutlery from Pete, Pete is quoted in the catalog as saying all of our fixed blade knives or AUS8A and all of our folding knives are AUS6A. Either way this knife has good stainless steel in the blade. This is one of the tough ones to find if you’re trying to complete a full set of the Officers Ranch knives.
