Cattaraugus Pan Am expo display knife Beaver falls
Cattaraugus and Beaver Falls item. It's a large 20 1/2" overall display piece that was first displayed at an expo when it was owned by Beaver Falls and I believe the dated expo was 1876. JBF Champlin bought BF machinery and the group of display knives came with it among other items. He displayed them at the 1901 Pan Am expo in Buffalo NY. I have included a closeup of the etch that is on the blade plus a picture of a large carving knife from a set I have marked BF to show the size. This is a rare piece of cutlery history. I have 5 of them and the 4 others came with the fork to match and this is the only one that did not have a fork. Great carved natural handles that are some type of ivory. I show the stable crack that runs down the handle. Picture of all of them is included. There were 13 sets total and most are owned by various collectors 2 by the American Cutlery museum in Cattaraugus an the rest by a descendant of JBF in Little Valley NY. Asking 325 for it. Picture of the Catt display at the expo is included in the pictures I'm sending.
The sale is for only the one knife.
I will include shipping on this item to anywhere in the CONUS
