Yet another automatic from my grandfather's collection.  Other than buying knives from local flea markets, I don't know how he came by this Colonial.  He passed in 1996, so he came across it some time before then, and now his collection has passed to me and I am passing it on to another.

Please note I am not by any means a knife expert, automatic or otherwise, so check out the condition for yourselves in the pictures and video and ask any questions you'd like.

As far as I can see this Colonial Shur Snap is in pretty good condition.  Certainly not new in box, nor in mint condition but everything works with a few flaws.

It will lock when it's supposed to lock and spring open when the button is pushed.  It does have a tendency not to lock in place when sprung open, it will fully open and snap back before the lock has a chance to engage.  This also depends on how you're holding it when it opens.  If you then manually open the blade fully it locks into place ok.

There is some shakiness and wobble to the blade when it's fully open but that seems to be common in my limited experience.  It locks closed and I don't see any peek.

The handles are in good shape, I don't see anything MAJORLY wrong with them, however there is some rust starting to form on the spring, I don't know if that's due to outgassing from what I think are celluloid handles or just the natural aging process.  The rust doesn't appear to be to deep to me, but I did not attempt to clean it off or anything like that.  The handles and the blade will have scuffs and scratches from time and use.

Asside from some mineral oil in the joint, and cleaning off of some masking tape stuck to it, I haven't done any kind of alteration or cleaning.

If you receive it and are not satisfied, I will refund your money upon receiving the knife back as long as it is in the same condition that it was sent out in, but I ask that you cover the cost to ship it back to me, and please return it within 30 days.
