HELP tested 62005
Looking over this Tested Barlow
Found it odd the bolster stamp and tang didn’t match, seen these before, but they always matched
Feel free to share opinions, we got some smart minds in here
Half stops are perfect, blades open and line up, snap is great. Solid knife with good fit and finish

Re: HELP tested 62005
Sargent's 7th shows one Zack but it doesn't have the long tail C on the bolster, it's just like the tang stamp.

I did see that, I have seen several fake of this model, but they were quite obviousgsmith7158 wrote:Sargent's 7th shows one Zack but it doesn't have the long tail C on the bolster, it's just like the tang stamp.
Still undecided here.

Re: HELP tested 62005
Hoping to find another example, I honestly don’t feel this knife has any issues, the fakes I’ve seen have always stood point.
My only concern is the bolster stamp, though I still think it looks like a nice stamp, i haven’t seen this exact stamp on anther bolster.

Looks ok to me. IIRC I have seen the bolsters both ways. "Reading the knife", it certainly looks 100% authentic.

I’m glad to hear it’s been seen both ways, the knife read correct to me, it’s always easier to accept when you get some solid continuity.knifeaholic wrote:Looks ok to me. IIRC I have seen the bolsters both ways. "Reading the knife", it certainly looks 100% authentic.
I really like the bolster, kind of squared off, is there a proper term for this type of bolster?
Thanks

Re: HELP tested 62005
Here is the common faked version of this knife
The stamp is the same design but obviously not the same, notice the round ends of the letters and the pushed metal from when it was stamped, like stamped while cold.
