5254s & 6254s

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Not sure where to put this...so I'm going to drop it in here. This is listed as a 5254 with Rogers bone. Tang stamp is Rog5254. This doesn't look like anything I've come to know as Rogers bone. Can someone enlighten my feeble mind?

Looks like Case's Amber Bone offering.
But what it looks like and what it is may be two totally different things.

I used to hate full size trappers ... over time, they grew on me. Now, they've become one of my all time fave weekend carry knives - very rugged and useful (I like to thin out the clip and pointy up the tip of the spey). Here's my pile --->

I'm not a fan of the large trapper, either. Just don't like that looooooong spay.
I'm sure you've posted elsewhere, but could you post a pic here of your blade mods on the large trapper?
Maybe that'll change my mind about this pattern.

Sure, here's a pic of the little tweak I like to do to the blades on full size trappers (take the big belly out of the clip and tidy up the point on the spey)
