Ouch! I've read in a few places, here included that cocobolo can do nasty things to you. It's a sensitizer, so once you have a reaction, you'll likely have one every time after, and they get worse. Someone, I think Hukk maybe, since he's a wealth of information, posted a link a while back with a listing of woods and what they can do to you. Was an interesting and scary read
On another note, Nice knife! How is polishing O1 for you? I can get a damn near mirror finish, but I have what almost looks like grain to the steel at that point. I didn't think much of it, I have a canal street in D2 that has a very similar look on its polished side, just curious what other O1 users see. 24 inches worth of steel and I think I might finally have a knife to show for it, after all the practice and experimentation

Once you've had this severe reaction - it can be worse next time. I'll stabilize French Walnut just so I don't sneeze my head off.
I think it would be a good one to stay away from, there are a lot of nice woods out there.
You will need to be completely covered up and have a respirator - NO DUST MASK after that. If it were me, I'd just stay away from this wood - completely. Always better to play it safe.
Really nice knife and O-1, one of the better steels!

thanks guys i charged him 30.00 more for the meds I had to buy "LOL" and that was the last of the cocobolo I had from the bow building days so I'll do other wood for a while and yes no more shorts and tank tops working with the wood ,I feel better tonight but its starting to get to the chest some feels like a cold but the guy liked the knife you could see it on his face he liked it , it makes you feel good to know someone likes what you did !!! and I only took it to 400 sandpaper so as he could clean it up after camping with a quick 400 rub down and oil he'll be good as new

Really beautiful, if such a word can be used for a really "manly" knife. That mixed filework is a real inspiration. I have been locked into using the same type throughout but I like your mix.
