Look out Tejas!!!

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Nothing new about it, they’ve been coming for several years. It probably has accelerated since Covid however. The real estate developers don’t care though. They’re bulldozing trees, flattening the natural terrain, filling in ponds and lakes so they can build more houses. The poor saps that are buying those houses have no idea the home was built on ā€œfillā€ - it’s a foundation repair waiting to happen.

The looming problem is there’s not enough water to support all the growth. The underground aquifers are being rapidly depleted as the cities and farmers pump more and more water from them. There is only so much area available for building reservoirs for surface water. Yes there is a lot of land in Texas, but much of it is arid west Texas. And nobody wants a new reservoir on their land. Water and water rights are the next big fight coming to Texas. Those moving here I droves don’t know it - yet.

Californians know all about lack of water. Now Texas just needs mudslides, earthquakes and wildfires to make it a California Paradise. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸš¬
