Case Classic 55’s Pattern Collection

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Case Classic 55’s Pattern Collection

Post by Wolfeman92 »

Hey all,

Figured I might get a little more discussion and fun feedback in this thread as opposed to the Case Knife forum thread (I miss the old Classics thread). Nonetheless, I started back for a third time last May, as a pattern collector of the three different 55 “Wharnnie” patterns from 90’s Case Classic Program. I’ll attach a few photos of the group so far!

Thanks and take care,
Reed

Dogleg & Reverend,

Thanks! As you can tell the big 355 is my favorite, but I’m a fan of the smaller two (3055 & 30055), too. I like trying to get the same handle material in all three sizes if I can!

Kennedy,

Thanks! And, there’s likely a couple of 1 of 1’s in that group of mine. I’ve not seen another Red Stag (Amber Bone) or another Stellar’s Sea Cow. Doesn’t mean they’re not out there, just know I haven’t seen others!

Kennedy,

Awesome knives! By chance did you acquire those in the last year or so, or owned for a while? Some look familiar from my old collections 🫣

Love black pearls, “China” & “Smoked”. Always been a big pink Pearl fan, also!

Hello Reed I read your post and you said you miss the Case Classic forum, so do I. I asked the administration to see if they would put the Classic forum back up never heard anything back.
Nice to see you getting back in collecting the Classic's

Terry,

Yes, it’d be especially nice since it’s been a good while since Case Classics Club website went away and fell apart as a valuable resource.

Unfortunately the Case Classics subforum here didn’t survive one of the forum consolidation/streamlining makeovers. My observation is that it became relatively dormant as related to discussions of actual Case Classics. Many posts made there were actually regular Case knives, by those who didn’t know the difference between Case and Case Classics. And many Case Classics were posted in the regular Case forum as well. Too many don’t know there’s a difference. That may have contributed to its demise. ::hmm:: ::shrug::
