Song of the Mountains taping Marion,VA Sept.2, 2023
I didn’t get to spend much time talking with Mr. McKuen. They were calling him to the merch table and the young man in the wheelchair also wanted to talk with him.

Very cool. How was the show? He's an institution.

The show fantastic. It was my first-time seeing Mr. McKuen live. Iespecially enjoyed being there live after seeing John on two episodes of Life of a Musician, listening to his stories and playing with Brandon Adams. The "opening acts" were on very good, though one veered a little into the realm of politics and I prefer to separate politics from music these days (although I do an updated version of CDBs "Uneasy Rider). And many of the political /protest songs from my misspent youth hold far too much relevance still.

Agree on the politics and music thing. Ask the Dixie Chicks how that went.
