Need help identifying knife please
Need help identifying knife please
I have this case 70s series knife which appears to have stag scales. The blade stamp reads 1199 shr. Need expert advice at identifying this pattern. I have looked and looked and can’t find this same knife anywhere. I thought it might be the whaler pattern but have yet to see one with stag scales. Also, this knife does not have the clevis type bail.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Re: Need help identifying knife please
That knife has been re handled at some point.
It should have walnut scales and a bail. Not to mention that looks nothing like Case stag ....

A 5199 is a big Jack, sometimes called a Rail Splitter (and maybe a Torpedo?). The rest I agree with what royal said
. Definitely looks like it had a bail at one point, not Case stag either
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

1199 Sh R SS "Whaler" that has been rehandled with some type of antler.

Agree with dogleggg, still a great knife in many ways!

I agree with what has already been said. Though it's no longer original, it would be a good user if the price is modest.
