SMKW Christmas Trapper

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

SMKW Christmas Trapper

Post by Deepsea18 »

Does anybody have much information on the annual SMKW Christmas Trapper?
I’ve had a case knife, particularly a trapper in my pocket most of my life, but just recently started intentionally collecting. Also I’m one of those Christmas nuts, so when i discovered the series I knew right away i had to have them all. I called SMKW and was pretty disappointed in the lack of knowledge the woman who answered had on the subject. Maybe some of y’all can help.
For one it’s my understanding that the knives with dated bells are exclusive to SMKW, is this correct?

1B. If correct would they be considered and SFO?

2. How many are in the series so far?

3.How many are produced each year?

4. Is there anywhere I can find a guide, list, or any literature on the knives produces so far in this series?

Also want to shout out to Kennedy Knifes LLC I purchase a beautiful knife from them this morning out of the classifieds section of the website. I’m particularly chasing the trappers with engraved bolsters.

There is an open listing on ebay, just search "Rough Rider Christmas Pocket knife Trapper Bone Handle Custom File Work 1442". I had my eye on it for a short bit, but I'm really looking for the christmas moose. 1442 is the model number. Happy trapping!
