It would be helpful to know what its closed length is, but Case didn’t make many knives with grooved bolsters.

Looks like a Queen City to me.

Thanks Steve and mubleypeg ..knife is 3 5/8 long . The shied and tang stamp are marked clauss . Case used very little. Of the winter bottom bone . I had my doubts it would have been used on a contract knife .still yet I I wanted to eliminate the knife by its frame build. . I have 5 clauss knifes with shields .I will post the group Of them Together .from top to bottom .knife 1. Has clauss shield but blade is marked case xx . The mark worn but can be made out with jewelers loop . Knife 2 I believe I have matched to case pattern..knife 3 the O.P . My thoughts were Shatt and Morgan ?( Possibly )Queen City ) ? .knife 4. Knife. 5 until I can match them by frame build and scale material remain unknown . foot note : all the shields look identical to one another to me .
