Rough Rider "No Blade Trapper"

Rough Rider "No Blade Trapper"???

I found the below Rough Rider Knife and article online through "Knife Newsroom"
I am not sure when it was made, however, it has the older name RR with a "I" rather than the newer "Y." I believe it was in 2017?
I have never seen this for sale. Believe me, I have looked for it.
I'd love to see the face of the TSA agent at the airport checkpoint, or the results if someone asks to borrow your pocket knife.
The below hilarious description was posted within "Knifenewsroom.com"
Anyone seen this before?

"Sometimes folks love the look and feel of a traditional pocket knife, but just can’t be trusted with a knife. Rough Rider has solved that problem with their brand new Rough Rider No Blade Trapper.

The hand-crafted and fitted No Blade Trapper is 4.125″ closed (or open for that matter) and features 440A high carbon steel spacers, black G10 handles, and brushed nickel silver shield and bolsters. It was designed by the design team of Hiram & Lester and their initials are stamped into the main bolster.

“Look, there are some people that love pocketknives, but frankly shouldn’t have one,” says Rough Rider spokesperson, Arnold Franklin. “Maybe your grandpa who’s getting a little forgetful or possibly a convicted felon – ya know, there are lots of people who just shouldn’t have a knife but still want one. The No Blade Trapper is perfect for those folks.”

Arnold went on to tell us that this pattern looks great, feels great in your hand or pocket, and is “guaranteed to get through any TSA checkpoint without any problems at all.”

The Details:

440 formula high carbon steel spacers
Black G-10 handles
Brass liners
Brushed nickel silver shields with (H&L bolster stamp)
Nickel Silver Pins and Bolsters
0″ Blades
Blade thicknesses: 0″
4-1/8” closed (or open)"

I'd rather take a Case Changer handle only through TSA and mail myself a blade at my destination. Leatherman, among others, makes knifeless multitools. That empty handle could have at least been given a bottle opener.

And Pet Rocks sold like hotcakes.

My point, anything can be sold with the right marketing.

I am almost certain this was an April Fool's joke. I noticed this on there too. Notice the month in the hyperlink, April.

Given all the stuff RR is putting out, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd make something like this.

It's rare, Ryan, maybe even had "PROTOTYPE" stamped on the blades! ::woot:: ::woot:: ::woot:: ::super_happy:: ::facepalm::

Call it a “Limited Edition.” Some will buy it.
