I used to see a case similar to the 2nd listing all the time at a local HW store when I was growing up. I remember it having some fixed blades in one area, some wet stones & can of oil in another area and a whole bunch of cool folding knives. And, of course, all the magic drawers where the new knives were stored...

I had one like the top case pictured bought once, until I measured and realized there was not a door inside my house nor a hallway wide enough to get it through. I could have got it into the living room, where it would have had to stay. My wife vetoed that. So I had to pass on it.
