Help with 64090R

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Help with 64090R

Post by Ripster »

Hello Case folks ,have a couple of questions for you. Picked this up 7/8 years ago, wondering about the 000 on the front bolster . Have heard it means prototype, I don’t know much about Case ,so also wondering if they produced this knife for NKCA as a club knife. This knife is very well built for a newer Case, it makes me want to slide it in my pocket. But I hesitate because if it’s worth something to someone in this Condition, would rather pass it on . As I like to use all my knifes ,would really like to know more about this one .Its 3 and 3/8 long and stamped USA over 64090R Over SS. Any help would be great and if interested in this knife let me know, can work something out once I have more info. Thanks

Sorry I can’t help you much with this JP, or I’d have responded sooner. Kept thinking someone who knows would do so. I can’t tell you anything about the NKCA designation except to speculate since it’s etched 2010 it must be one of the last club knives the NKCA did - in fact I didn’t know it lasted that long.

The pattern is called Junior Scout and is among the knives Case makes for their official BSA scout knife line. All of them I’ve seen were well made knives. I don’t know when the pattern was introduced but guessing it was within the past 15-20 years. ::shrug:: If no one here can provide the info you seek I’d email Case at consumer-relations@wrcase.com and ask them.

Thanks much Ken, great to know about the Junior Scout,BSA info. It is a nice ,well built piece. Think I’ll get a message off to Case, would like to know if they produced this model for NKCA or did it fall thru the cracks. Again Thank you ,and be safe out there.
