The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.
I have owned a few Clauss knives in the past (Clauss Cutlery, Freemont, Ohio) and was surprised to learn from this well-known ebay seller that these are really Case knives. Is this really true? Also doesn't the price seem a bit steep?
Case made some knives for Clauss as did numerous other companies. Here’s one of several threads here about Clauss. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=22652
The specific knife you’ve asked about looks to me like a Queen. That seller will say and do about anything if he thinks it would get him another dollar for his mostly overpriced and often fake wares. JMO

When the people fear their government, that is tyranny. When government fears the people, that is freedom.
I would not buy any knife from that seller because some of his knives are well done fakes. 'Well done' = you need to know some quite specific details to spot it as a fake.

Seller has been pitting insane prices on many of his knives lately, and like KJ says BEWARE of any knife seller has, he specializes in modified, messed with, and outright fake knives. Many Clauss fixed blades were made by Kinfolks at the time Kinfolks was making all the fixed blades for Case so many Clauss marked fixed blades will be identical to Case marked fixed blades.
