Is this knife legit?

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Is this knife legit?

Best photo I can get.

What do you guys think? Its marked 6383 on the reverse side of the master blade. I've not been able to find tang mark that matches the one in the photo AND per the research section of this site, the master and secondary blades should be clip style blades. Best I can tell it measures 3 1/2" closed. Nothing to indicate length open. If it is legit, I'm grading it about 10 - 15%.

Thanks.

Very worn down, but 100% legit in my opinion.

Looks legit to me too, IMHO. This is a pattern 6383 "swell-center" whittler. The tang stamp may have had "U.S.A." under the Case XX and it is just worn off, which means it was made between 1965 and 1969. The primary and secondary blades are clips, just so worn down that they don't look like it any more.

Somebody made that into a short blade whittler. The blades are hardly worn. They look full just shortened. It looks like a nice knife to play with on a rainy day with a block of wood.

Worn out. Not worth much as a collectable. JMO. I agree it’s likely a 1965-69, or a 1970’s dotted knife, that the U.S.A. portion of the stamp has worn off or been removed. As for the secondary blades, they look correct - should be one short clip and one pen. There are lots of correct examples for reference here in the galleries, stores and posts.

Thank you Gentlemen. A lot of the time I need "another set of eyes" to verify what I see, OR don't see. Figure it helps me and other newbies learn something.
