Thought I'd finally start a thread for Poems & other creative things instead of starting a new topic each time. I will go back to the first three topics and collect the creative stuff out of them and then repost them in here so we get it all in one thread. Once I get all that reposted in here, I'll add my fourth knife poem on to the end. Please feel free to join in on the fun & add your own creative things. Sayings, Quotes, Poems or whatever else you may come up with or come across. Just enjoy & have fun!

I believe..., every knife is a soul, looking for a soulmate.
New knives & new wives,
May sparkle & shine,
But the real question is,
Will they stand the test of time?
Vintage knives & vintage wives,
Are to cheerish & hold on to,
Cause in most cases folks,
They don't "Make Em" like they used to.
Vintage knives & vintage wives,
Are tried, tested & true,
I love my vintage knives,
And Honey I Love You!

These things pop up in my head when I'm trying to fall sleep at night. Most times I try to ignore them or I think I'll write them down in the morning & then they are gone forever but this time I turned my light on, got a pen & paper and jotted it down. Hope you enjoyed.

Hi folks,
I got so many nice & friendly comments on my first knife poem that I felt inspired to write one for the AAPK & it's great group of members. I tried to get as many user names or at least parts of user names into it as I could. It's a silly, "Just 4-Fun" type poem but It took me the larger part of the day to write it so I hope that you all enjoy reading it. Here goes...
"Fishin the Bay"
The sails were all set,
On the U.S. - AAPK,
As we headed sword fishing,
Out on the Bay,
So we cast out our nets,
And trolled with our lines,
Just gotta be patient,
It may take some time.
There are tones of Sheepsfoot,
Loads of Bowie & Spey,
Clips, Hawkbills & Wharncliffes,
Are all out in the bay.
Our crew was quite a "zoo",
With no "Warden" in sight,
But "orvet" had an "Old Folder",
Kept just out of sight,
We had a man named "samb",
Born in "1955",
"Willy", "Robo", "Steve" & "Philco",
All kept him alive.
There was one in the crow's nest,
Way up at the top,
No one knew his real name,
We just called him "mr-watch".
There was one called "Railsplitter",
With a chestnut "doglegg",
A victim of "petes-knives",
And the game "Mumbleypeg".
The whole time we were fishin,
We had to be aware,
Cause even on the bay,
Theres some Pirates out there.
Down around "tongue-river",
Sails the "JMH-58",
Back & forth in "cody" cove,
From early to late.
In search of hidden treasures,
And the occasional "Quick-Steel",
"Jerryd" & Doc B",
Take turns at the wheel.
Whenever we see them,
We fear for our lives,
Cause they all have such gorgeous,
"Sharp-n-Shiny-Knives".
They have fearless Buccaneers,
With names we all knew,
"dlr", "Jeffinn" & "rugmar",
Just to name a few.
Of course "edge" & "LDF",
Would be with them as well,
In fact they might be,
Behind the vary next swell.
Now we've all caught some nice ones,
And we all love to brag,
Bout them beautiful scales,
Of abalone & stag.
A few Jacks & some Tunas,
Were the catch of the day,
Those Sunfish & Seahorses,
Somehow got away.
By the end of it all,
Even "Ray" was quite happy,
We all had some keepers,
And not one was Crappie!

A certain little camo Case
Is doing it’s pocket time
It’s blade is sharp and shiny
And it’s scales look just fine
It’s always there beside me
To help me through my day
It sharpens pencils, opens bags
Whatever comes my way
All my small emergencies
Are easier to face
When resting in my pocket
Is a little Case - in case!

My new buddy! I got it on Saturday and it’s been in my pocket ever since.
Sorry zoogirl, the picture doesn't show up.

I didn’t write this but it’s been a favorite for years. From an old Case catalog reprint “Courtesy of J. Russell Case”:
An Old Alibi
I scented trouble from the way
Bill Jones stormed into the store that day.
The paint brush whiskers on his chin
but half concealed a fiendish grin.
He held within his open hand
a pocket knife of our best brand,
and showed with a contemptuous snort
where both blades had been broken short.
"How did you do it Bill?" said I.
He grinned but did not bat an eye
but was well primed and answered quick,
"Just cutting on a soft pine stick".
I grinned myself, I did, b’jing,
to hear that old familiar thing
that’s heard in every hardware store
a hundred times a year or more.
I handed out another knife
as you’ve done all your business life
to fellows who could tell a lie
and look you squarely in the eye.
Next day a lawyer held me up,
a rich man but an ornary pup,
with a pen knife gapped like a saw,
and I was mad but held my jaw.
I asked, "How did you do it, Dick?"
He answered, "On a soft pine stick".
I cleared my throat, I choked, I spat
and said, "I’m sorry to hear that".
I was....but why he`ll never know
till he gets where all liars go,
and meets the millions there with Nick,
lost whittling on a soft pine stick.
One rainy, windy dismal day,
when April gazed on nearing May,
I found the jewel of his race,
a boy with freckled, sun-kissed face,
and honest eyes but sheepish look,
who grinned and from his pocket took
a broken, saw-toothed, once-was knife.
I groaned and joy went out of life.
"My boy", I said, "Now say it quick,
you broke this on a soft pine stick".
"No sir", he said, as my heart sank,
"I broke it prying on a plank".
With joy I threw my arms apart
and hugged the rascal to my heart.
"My boy", I cried, "you’ve saved my life!
Here, take this pearl, four bladed knife".
"But wait", I said, "just wait until
I wrap it in a dollar bill".
Life has some wonders yet to show
and I’ll confess I didn’t know
a man or boy of any rank
could break a knife upon a plank.
The only way to do the trick,
I thought was on a soft pine stick.

I believe..., every knife is a soul, looking for a soulmate.
To some a knife is just a tool
to others it's a treasure.
To the first it is to cut and poke and pry
To the later it satisfies the hand and eye.
And it matters not the value
Some expensive ones ride the pocket
Or in the car
And some old beaters are just admired.
So use it as you darn well please
For after all it's yours.

Well, it don't look like much but that was a lot of work actually. Glad I got all the poems together in one thread now.
Think I'll add my fourth poem tomarrow. I'll give you guys a hint though, it's about Queen's.

I wonder how many of our folks here on AAPK can actually relate to this very true set of verses?
Thanks for sharing it, it really depicts the true life of a country boy and his knife.

Great stuff! I loved it! Wish I could write that good!
Been haveing a hard time posting and can't get some things to work here today? When I try to get to "Your Posts" I get a Pop-Up with " General Error". When I try to make posts I keep getting knocked out of the AAPK and strang stuff like that. Don't know why.
Anyways, I'll try to post another poem when all seems to be working smoother.

I've been having such a hard time navigating around the AAPK, this could possibly be my last or one of a few last posts.
Anyways I wanted to post one more last poem before I sign off. If I can. I don't own any Queens yet but I wish that I did so that's what this poem expresses. Hope you enjoy. Take care everybody. I will truely miss you all. Over&Out
"Hail to the Queen"
Quite a sight, oh have you seen, Underneath and in between, all blades sharp & polished clean, Eyes locked on and focused keen, Each heart pounding for the Queen, Never held her but I dream, I will one day hold the Queen!

Many of us have been experiencing problems "navigating around the AAPK" the past couple of days. Your problems might be related to the software changes being made to the site. Bryan is working on them as fast as he can so be patient and don't give up.

Thanks for the info Ken. I thought I was the only one having trouble. Not good at being patient but I'll try real hard.
Thanks a million Bryan for working out the bugs! Don't over stress yourself, but keep up the good work.
Talk to ya soon,
Tom
