Parker USA?

Post by cody6268 »

I'm wondering about the quality of Parker USA knives; the ones made in Alabama. As I understand, this would later become Bear and Sons after Ken Griffey bought the factory. How do these compare to a Bear and Sons? Camillus? Schrade?

I own a few Parker's from different eras. My favorites are the ones stamped Chattanooga TN, but also own ones made in Japan and they're great quality as well. I believe the Alabama made Parker's (Parker-Edwards) were the last of the family run business. Quality was on par with Schrade, and much better than any of the Bear & Sons knives I've seen.

I have a few USA Parkers ... and have had a few Bear & Sons. In my experience, the Parkers quality FAR EXCEEDS the Bear & Sons I've had (and didn't have for long) - which were all major disappointments. I would say Parkers can rival Case quality some of the time; Bear & Sons rivaling USA Parker, none of the time.
pffffft that's not a knife ......... now THAT'S a knife !! Crocodile Dundee
