Case russlock info

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Welcome to AAPK.

Your question is very broad. Can you be more specific? Exactly what do you want to know about it?

This is from the W.R. Case & Sons website:
The Russlock knife is a pattern that was named after Case founder, J. Russel “Russ” Case. This pattern features a liner lock mechanism, along with a gimped lever for convenient one-hand opening. The Clip blade on this durable folding knife is commonly used as a multi-purpose utility blade and is preferred for detail work. This knife is constructed with Case Tru-Sharp™ stainless steel which is a special high-carbon steel that helps the blades hold an edge longer than conventional steel. It also offers extraordinary blade strength and corrosion resistance. Comes conveniently packaged in a box. Made in Bradford, PA, USA from domestic and imported materials.
Tru-Sharp™ surgical steel blade
One-Hand opening, liner locking Clip blade
Jigged Bonestag handle
Length: 4.25 inches closed and 2.7 ounces
Limited lifetime warranty

Welcome to AAPK, Cascase.

The Russlock is definitely one of Case's more...controversial...patterns--people generally seem to either love it or hate it. Perhaps you might like to share your feelings about it. What was it about the Russlock that made you decide to get one? After owning it for awhile, have your feelings about it changed in any way?

Check out this thread to see what other AAPK members had to say about the Russlock.

Here's a little more information about the Russlock pattern (from Shepherd Hills)

The RussLock (1953L) debuted in the 2000 Case Catalog, and was quickly a favorite among collectors with its unique style and beauty. This pattern features a liner lock mechanism, along with a gimped lever for convenient one-hand opening. The liner lock was Case's answer for a high tech knife. Designed by late Case Master Knifemaker, Tommy Hart (1930 - 1999), the sleek body style of the RussLock was inspired by the Jack Knife (028), a pattern that has been retired for over 40 years. The pattern was named after Case founder, J. Russell "Russ" Case. The pattern number (1953L) is a tribute to the year Russ Case passed away.

I've done some "telling" so now would be a good time for you to do some showing, Cascase--hoping you will post a photo of your new Russlock. ::nod::
