Pocket Worn Stockman collection

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Pocket Worn Stockman collection

Post by Rotten »

I've finally settled on a direction for my collection/accumulation. As you can tell it is the Stockman pattern, specifically Case Pocket Worn series.

The accumulation so far.
11070

bottom row left to right -
1996 Red 6318
1997 Red 6318
1998 Antique 6318
1999 Antique 6318
2002 Black 63032
2006 Aquamarine 6318
2016 Denim 6318
2017 Whiskey 6318
2017 Harvest Orange 6318
2017 Bermuda Green 6318
2018 Burnt Brown 6318
Top right 2000 Green 6347
Top left 2010 Caramel 6347

From what my research has shown me I am still missing a couple of the handle color variants. The Carribean Blue and Antique/Amber have eluded me so far, but tracking them down is a lot of the pleasure. I have seen a couple of PW's with Navy handle but not a Stockman so far.

Although 6347 is my favorite pattern and I edc an Amber one almost daily if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be the 2002 Black one. Although the Aquamarine and Denim anniversary versions are gorgeous.

I don't have any of the Case specific books so all of my research has been online. As far as I can tell the 6318 wasn't in the PW lineup every year but there was always one of the Stockman patterns including the Sowbelly Stockman at least once and I hope to add a few of the others when possible. I do have a few other Stockman that I'll post sometime soon. But I'll keep the PW acquisitions to this thread.

I'd love to see your PW Stockman as well.

I like it! A Case Stockman; you can't be much more traditional than that and the pocketworn bone is just nice looking to me. I have this Case 6347 PW Stockman in Green from 1998, one of my favorite EDC knives; I also have some other patterns in PW Blue - all mine have the CASE XX block shield. OH

I recently sold a 2005 Case Pocket Worn in Caribbean Blue that was NIB. Absolutely gorgeous color. It was so pretty, I really didn't want to sell it. If I can find the photo I'll post it for you.

That's a really nice one. I like the block CASE XX shields on the earlier PW as well. It's funny, I have the Antique bone from '98 and '99 and the '98 has the open C oval shield while the '99 has the block shield. The blank badge shield on the 2010 Caramel is striking and I wish there wer more PW Stockman with it.

The Carribean Blue's I have seen have been impressive. Be nice to see if you have a picture, for some reason I don't think they were 6318 or 6347 in that color.

Nice collection, Rotten. I am always interested in seeing a closely focused collection like yours. That pocket worn bone is very pleasant on the eyes and hands.
