First 63047

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

First 63047

Post by XX Case XX »

I was able to secure my very first Case 63047. It's a 1979 1-Dot. Outstanding shape for it's age. No cracks. Great snap. No blade wobble. I'm really happy with this one. Thought some of you guys might like to see it. You can click on the images to get a closer look.

I have it’s one year older brother. Outstanding working knives. I really like the California clip too. Yours is a real looker.

That is a beaut. I noticed the one blade said 'for flesh only'. Some of the knives I whittle with have that attitude.

Great score, Mike! I really like the subtle variations in the bone. Nice jigging too.

Mike - nice one ... '79 was a good vintage !! I much prefer the 63047 to the 6347. Both of mine have outstanding snap & way above average fit and finish ... fantastic knives.

Mike,

The California Clip and "for flesh only" really make that knife.

I like the bone on those. I've never seen a green one, that's a real pretty color. Are they both that "Appaloosa" bone?

I don't have the box for either ... so I'm not sure if they are technically appaloosa - most seem to call them red or green bone on eBay ads.

Smooth Green and Smooth Rose

The smooth green was a limited release in 1979. The smooth rose was the standard production version 1979-81.
