Real or fake Hitler youth knife RZM 7

Post by jjohnston »

I'm stumped. Cant figure out if this Hitler Youth Knife knife is real or fake. I have done a little research on the internet but was left confused. The knife has been used but in excellent condition. But what has confused me is the markings for the manufacture. All of the RZM knives that i looked at had a slash in the Z and appear to be stamped. This knife has no slash in the Z and only has a stand alone 7 Below the RZM (both appear to be acid etched) as to what I'am not sure is either the district it was assigned (Hoin-Aachen) or 7 representing knife from RZM. I've included a few photos for review and will provide more if requested. I will not be upset if it is a fake because a friend found it in a storage unit sale and sold it to me for $10.00. But I would really like to know if it's real or am i going to use it as a letter opener. Regards, Jameshttps://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_foru ... &id=313774

There s a youtube vid that the fella showed 40-50 examples of these "youth knives, and as I recall some of them were in fact etched, and I do believe they were authentic.
I will try to find the vid, and post it here.

I don't know the authenticity of the knife but I'm pretty sure the etch translates to "blood and honor".

You are correct sir.
That was the motto of the "Hitler Youth".

Today it is the name of a Neo Nazi band from England. Go figure... ::facepalm::

Well, i have my answer, It's a fake! Not what I wanted to hear but it is what it is. A special thanks to Ken Mc (Americanedgetech) for posting the Hitler Youth Dagger video and to DD Harris of dddaggers.com for revealing this reproduction. The good news is I purchased it at a yard sale for $10.00. It will make a good conversation piece and letter opener.
Another Thank You to Admin Phil for putting me on the right track in the proper forum.
My Best to all,
James

Glad the vid helped but I'm also saddened that you knife was not authentic.

Well, like you said... 10 bucks for a cool knife is always a good investment ::tu::
