Oakland Cutlery Co.
In Goins' book it is only mentioned without a date.
A Doctor's knife with a clip and a secondary pen. Blades essentially unsharpened.
Brass pins and brass full liners. Steel bolsters and cap and I guess the shield is steel too.
Some kind of composite material for the covers. A nice long filler above the cap in the secondary blade well.
A very solid knife with half stops on both blades. This is a weighty knife. 3 3/4".
The clip blade is tipped.
Does any one know anything about Oakland Cutlery Co.?
I'm thinking German ...........

Interesting knife, Joe!
Handle material appears to have a fine "fuzzy" appearance, could it possibly be pressed horn? Also interesting to see a clip blade on that pattern.

Re: Oakland Cutlery Co.
Thanks very much for your comments, guys.
I am nor familiar with pressed horn or Gutta Percha but if I had to choose one for this knife I'd go with Gutta Percha.
The knife had some quality attributes in the three lousy pictures offered so I bid and won the knife for $23 and change.
It's a solid knife.
Any body think it's German? ...... Any body think it's U.S. made .... by Germans? ...... Oakland, California?
