Rare second cut Stag

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Howdy kantuck,

I have seen two only since I have been collecting the knives produced in the Case Classic program, should be a rare piece considering the scales! Is it engraved on the back side of the main blade ---> "Prototype" or "Salesman Sample" & do you have any paper work on this piece? ....Post a few photos front & back side with the blades open when you have the time, OK?

Hey..again...This knife according to John of the case classic club..is a unmarked prototype...as he stated on the club certificate....I don't have the camera at this time ..thanks to my son..but I will try to post some old pictures I have of it ...and they are not the best...I wonder if it being a unmarked prototype would make this one any rarer...don't know...any info...would be appreciated... ::tu:: ::td:: Sorry ...I can't get my pictures to upload...I don't know if it's my service or this site..maybe later..

Beautiful piece kantuck! You hang onto this one as most Case Classic Prototypes have doubled in market value in the last year, with this knife of yours it is my personal opinion that it will continue to rise on the latter of value for the years to come ::tu:: (I'M sure of it!)

Hey kantuck,

You have a nice one there.

If John Adams has looked at the knife, and told you it's this or that, you can take it to the bank. Aside from a few boys in Tennessee, he knows more about the Case Classics than anyone around. While the Parker cert is the one to have, the CCC cert certainly carries some weight.
They (PKCS) will no longer create certs for us even if we send them the knife. Unfortunate too; I know I have at least 4 knives I would pay $25.00 each for a certificate. And thats just one little ol knife collector, there has to be hundreds out there like me. They could make $500.00 a day real easy for quite some time!

Take care
